I grew up in the '80s and used to play NES and SEGA Genesis all the time and I even beat lots of games. As I got older, the systems got more complicated and the games got harder too to the point where I couldn't use the joysticks at all and couldn't get past the first level of the game. I still love playing games but I am frustrated because I can't beat any of them anymore. Should I throw in the towel and sell my systems?

Why give it up? I grew up in the 80s too (I'm 32), and I'm still a die-hard gamer. Maybe you could try some turn-based RPGs like Final Fantasy X or Dragon Quest 8, because they don't require lightning fast reflexes. If you are not a fan of RPGs let me know the genre of games you like (I have an email link in my profile), and I'd be glad to steer you towards some easier, less frustrating games.

Hi, I don´t think you should do that, if you love to play video games buy a that doesn´t use a lot of buttons like a Nintendo ds(lite) because it has a touch screen, a Wii, a PC etc... and if you can´t pass the first level it´s because the new games are more difficult than the old ones, and if you have a trouble search for a walktrough in mycheats.com and some cheats in ing.com gamespot.com or gamespy.com. So keep playing games and have fun.

Well if you want to yeah sure. I use to play Sega to, i beat it, i found the pattern and secrets. Now i just don't care, just play and have fun, when its too hard, put it on easy or cheat a little bit.

Its up to you, but you should keep it. Because my friend sold his PS2, after about a year later, he wants to play Metal Gear Solid 3 again, so he wants his ps2 back and also the bad thing is, he can't afford ps2. I bought plenty of games, but i beat some of the games.

Take it from me, you will always play video games. At one point I was out and about and playing sports so much that I had no time, but with the intense graphics of the new gen systems and the realism I can't help but to play.

Get the Wii. Its very easy to pick up and play. So maybe you should sell your older systems and get a Wii. (It plays GC games too) You can also download older games, which you might like because of their simplicity.

It's really your decision, we can't make you do anything you don't want to do. But, if it were me, I would probably keep them because I might later regret it. Another thing, if you think a game is too complicated, cheating abit doesn't hurt.

Yes, Ive recently retired from playing computer games, and have discovered other interests in life.

Leave them for the kids.

if u want to go ahead, games are just there to keep u amused while u have nothing to do. if games frustrate u a lot its a good idea to take a break or something.

Definitely not. Just practice until you get better. Personally I rock at games but I didn't get that way by not practicing. Give games another chance.
