two VERY important things. ONE - get in the best shape possible by a. running sprints and b. ALWAYS playing at 100% and trying your hardest TWO - develop your strength to be as good as you possibly can. spend about 90% of your practice time on this strength. ex crossover (this is what i have been practicing), develop an unstopable crossover to the point where you know at any time you can use this move on ANYONE and get to the hoop and make something happen. do these two things and i almost guarantee you'll make your team. a couple more tips again, never lose confidence no matter what, it will just make you not play as good. confidence is one of the most important and underrated aspects of basketball. always believe that you are the best, no matter if your playin in the nba(yea i'm serious) or in a pickup game. also, hustle and never assume anything, play 100% until the whistle blows. be focused to, decide to yourself right now that you WILL make/start/lead whatever you goal is that team. good luck

make sure you know the coach. i was the best bball player at my middle school last year but i didn't make the team because the coach didn't know me. don't feel like you have to be the best person out there. if things don't go your way, keep running hard and be the first one down the court. coaches love to see that.

never get mad, if you turn the ball over, you are the first one down the court to break up the advantage, play hard defense and make smart decisions. see the whole court instead of part of the court. don't trash talk until you make the team and have a connection with your coach(teehee). OH yah NEVER GET MAD
