okay so does it hurt if you insert a tampon then take it out right away (like when its dry)?? and do you normally use tampons on the first day of your period? I like to wear pads until it starts getting heavy. anyone else do this? Is anyone else embarassed to ask their mom to go get her some pads/tampons? i am. well i normally am WITH her when she gets them but yeah...
btw im 14. just wanted to let yall know. : )

Don't be embarrassed to talk to your mom, she's been through it too.
I use tampons the first day of my period, I have some Tampax Pearl Lites that I use and its just fine.

I never went to the store with my mom, I always went with my dad. I would always just grab them off the shelf and put them in the shopping cart. My dad would never say anything. I started doing it with my mom, once my dad got tired of taking me to the store every month for that, she didn't ask any questions either.
I use tampons all the time during my period. Unless I have super light days, then I will usually only wear a panty liner at home, but at work I will wear the light ones. Make sure that you buy the ones with the plastic applicators or the ones without. Don't buy the cardboard ones, they damage your vaginal walls!!! Good luck!

I was soo embarrassed when i got my periods, i didnt want to talk to my mum about anything, i was 11 and im 25 now and i talk to her about the most gorey details, she really will understand, i wish i had used her as a resource when i was your age. About the tampons, i tried using one when i was 14 and i took it out striaght away, i didnt even have my period at the time...BAD MOVE...only try inserting them when you have your period it WILL HURT otherwise. Also make sure you change them regularly and dont use super ones if its only a regualr flow. I alternate between tampons and pads, depending on my days schedule but please talk to your mum, she may actually have been through exactly the same things and have really good answers to your questions. Don't be embarrassed I'm also 14...and if you take the tampon out to soon it hurts because theres not enough moisture in it...if it hurts when you put it in then you put it in wrong...if you put it in straight angle it a little see if it helps any or...if you already put it in at an angle slightly straighten it another reason may be that your not putting it in far enough...push the tampon in until the tips of your fingers hit the skin then push the applicator in i hope i helped!!
