Someone who has served in the military.

War service is not required unless you specify a war veteran.

A veteran is one who has served in the armed forces and has an honorable discharge; a common misconception is that one had to have either been in combat and/or has retired from active duty to be called a veteran.

A Veteran is anyone who has accomplished HONORABLE Military Service .. and it does not matter whether it is in times of peace or war.

Someone whos fought/served in the military.

Also someone who is experienced in a certain profession or skill. (Veteran plumber for example)
