usually you should wait a year till you feed babies everything that you would eat. its not the most nutritional thing for a baby plus it can get gummy while they chew on it and it could become a choking hazard.

Pediatricians these days recommend avoiding solid foods until at least 6 months. Wheat in particular should be one of the last grains introduced because it is the most prone to causing allergies. I'd say it isn't suitable for a baby to be fed pancakes, let alone with syrup or jam.

I don't think any food is really suitable for a 5 month old (I'm a big believer on delaying solids). But pancakes are kinds crap but then I feel so is rice cereal. If its her baby I would leave it alone but if it was your baby Id speak to her about it.

Hell no.
Exclusive breast fed for 8mo.
Then after that introduce foods slowly.
Very easy to digest foods like steamed root vegetables like turnip. Or completely mushed up apple or mango.
Can also introduce baby congee (rice porridge) made with little rice and lots of water.
Anyway, kids shouldn't be eating 'adult' foods until they are perhaps eight. This is why so many kids in N. American are full of sicknesses, overweight, allergies... especially allergies. Allergies are mainly caused by introducing adult foods to soon to children. There are lots of books on the topic, some good ones I've read are written by Micho and Aveline Kushi.

No! They're made with milk and eggs and wheat. Three very common allergens with very severe consequences, not to mention the maple syrup. NOT a good idea. In fact, quite a stupid idea, if I must say.

Not usually, but I wouldn't really say anything considering some parents are completely comfortable feeding thier children these things at such a young age and it will probably only cause strife between you and her.

A 5 month old isn't old enough to chew properly. I would think that even a small piece could pose a choking hazard.

No, I would not give a 5 month old pancakes! That is too young, especially if they have syrup and butter on them!

I only gave my daughter breastmilk and rice cereal at that age. I wouldn't do it. If the baby is okay and you don't want to cause problems I would be quiet.

Not a good idea...you don't know what kind of food allergies she may have...she could be allergic to wheat, soy or anything else.
