what laptop do you recommend for me if i use the following programs:
-word processing andd basic spreadsheeting
-upload pictures
-aim
-usually have a couple internet explorers up at once
i don't want a really expensive one but i also don't want a cheap one.

You may want to get the one with Intel Core 2 Duo Processor atleast 2.0 GHz, atleast 1GB of RAM, and the rest can just be standard features.

Hi. What you are asking for is a relatively light duty machine. No special graphics or sound cards. I would look at the bottom end Dells.

I suggest ACER the prize is not really high but the laptop is durabilty
