I'm referring to the type of woman that fears everything unknown, is constantly complaining, will cry over a paper cut, and can't even throw a paper ball five feet.

I see this image too often in society where alot of women are adopting these terrible traits. I see this projected even on television. Especially on the Lifetime Channel at night, which is ironic, don't you think? lol.

most shows I see the women are strong and fierce

I hate Lifetime. I hate the Oxygen network, too, while we're at it. And I also hate the direct opposition to Lifetime and Oxygen, the "men's network", Spike TV.

Well, okay, that's not entirely true. Spike TV has some pretty entertaining shows. The sheer amount of fake breasts bouncing pointlessly across the screen every two seconds is just really annoying.

Honestly. Gender-oriented television rarely produces anything worthwhile. It's like what happened to Ellen DeGeneres' sitcom after she came out of the closet. All of a sudden, they couldn't do or say ANYTHING that wasn't directly related to the fact that Ellen is a homosexual. If you build your show(s) around a demographic, they're bound to be crappy.

Depending on the weight of the paper ball it may be hard for anyone to throw it 5 feet.

For example, if only a very small amount of paper is used the paper ball will be too light and may only fly for 3.45 feet max.

If wax paper or rice paper is used it will also be very difficult to get any distance out of it.

Yes. What about those women in movies that are shown watching a drive-in horror flick? And they close their eyes and grab onto their man for protection?
I'm the type of girl, watching a horror movie, will just chuckle at the gory bits, though 28 weeks later spooked me a bit, lol.

Yes! Yes ! And YES!!!!

I hate the Lifetime Channel. It is the most mawkish, vindictive channel out there. If I chance to see it, I feel that I must wash my hands... and go read Nietzche.

Check out some classic Avengers with Diana Rigg to see a tough, matter-of-fact female as an antidote.

Perhaps you are allowing your perception to dwell into the weaker ones. I know that there are a lot of weak ones out there, as I know there are strong ones out there. However thinking or hearing about the weak ones kinda make me ill. So I think I just block it out, and roll my eyes if I am forced to hear about someone whom is weak, especially if it is weak by complete choice (like they know they got the capabilities but they choose to be weak or appear weak for whatever reason.). Is it annoying, yes, will it continue on, yes, but there are plenty of strong women out there to override the not so strong ones. And hopefully we will never be seen by all as weak simply by the misrepresentation of others.

I don't see it as a media problem, its more of a education issue. Women are led to believe by other women that men want sexually attractive women; its a false state so they become complainers and naggers. We men want women who can share the blessings, not women who depend on everything we do.

I think you watch too much Lifetime Channel. Most women on TV and in the movies are strong. They do glorify looks and sexuality too much though.

What about the woman in a horror movie (pick one- any one))- who is running from "certain death" in high-heeled shoes (which she never thinks to rid herself of), and trips and falls at least six times (and lies there for several moments- allowing her pursuer to catch up) before getting up again and running for her life? So pathetically predictable, isn't it?

LOL!

(Somebody give her a brain cell......or two!)

i dunno...yet its odd that the most idolized women in hollywood are very counterculture like angelina jolie, the whole charlies angels thing etc...

I honestly think women are changing their roles...but it could just be where I live (NYC)..maybe in the more rural areas these old traditions still hold weight?

and LMAO at flying king seats comment....bro you make horniness for old women seem like poetry AHAHAHAH
