I want to bring my camera to get some cool pics. Would it be ok to take it on the ride? If it's not a loop-loop coaster??

Most amusement parks won't allow loose articles (shoes, cameras) on most rides, including coasters. If you were to take a camera on a coaster, you'd have to hide it to get it on. But for a digital camera, The pictures are way better than film cameras, however they also cost a lot more. You run the risk of losing the camera either by dropping it, or by it getting caught on something, or just simply the camera slipping out of your hands. It's up to you if you want to risk it, but if you do, you better make sure you have good control of your camera.

It depends on the Park you are going to. Some parks have no problems with cameras on roller coasters. Other parks do not allow it at all. While others allow them on specific coasters only. So you need to know the policy of the park first.

If you do take it on one be sure you can maintain control of the camera. This means you need to have a very good wrist strap. Do not plan to put it around your neck, with the way most restraints are this will make it impossible to use the camera. Also, don't expect to hold onto any of the handles with your camera hand as you have a greater chance of it getting bumped around.

Oh dear, no... A friend of mine lost $1.25 in quarters out of his pocket on a ride and the quarters hit someone on the ground below... Imagine what a camera could do. That said, many rides warn you not to take your camera for just that reason. If by some chance you accidentally let go of that camera, the liabilities could be enormous.

no you're not allowed to. Haven't you ever seen the movie final destination 3 and what happened with the video camera though i doubt that could happen. Anyways If the camera falls out it could injure someone pretty badly unless it's some kiddy ride

I do it all the time. Just keep firing off pictures. Most are gonna be picts of the sky and stuff. You take enough of them and you will get a couple of good ones!

also, try using the movie mode on your camera and take a mini-movie of the whole ride. fun stuff.

Well if the parks allows it is one question, but I would say it would be too high a risk of dropping it, or it swinging out of your hand and breaking on something.
