because of some interior problems, we found the entire building including the attic was wrapped in plastic before insulating. I am told the plastic in the attic must be removed because it stoppibng any flow of air and is causing moisture concens=that can cause black mold. Is there any alternative to fixing this problem.

Not sure what you really mean. Depending on where you live plastic, or poly, is typically installed as a vapor barrier to prevent moisture from entering the wall cavities or into the attic. You DO NOT want air flow, as it brings moisture with it into these areas. That is essentially what causes the mold. I would need more info, e.g.: where you live, etc. Please email me and I will help you.

I've never heard of that being done. If the interior of your home was wrapped in plastic with the plastic INSIDE of the insulation (right next to the wallboard), that is proper, and is there for a vapor barrier to the unheated area. If it is as you indicate, then your vapor barrier is on the WRONG side of your insulation, and can cause mold issues.

Uuuuuummmmm
How's your fire insurance?

Seriously, that sounds like a nightmare. At least there's no asbestos in it though...right?
