I've been on depo for four years, hate it, wouldn't recommend it at all.
I'm on kariva (pill) for 1 1/2 almost two years and LOVE IT! No side affects like I had on depo!

I'm on Microgynon 20 and although I get the occasional nausea at times and whenever I don't take my pill at the same time each day or miss a tablet I can definitely expect breakthrough bleeding within 24 hours that lasts for a couple of days.
Every woman's body is different which means the side effects each person will experience on different type of birth control pills will vary and it can take a woman's body up to 3 months and sometimes longer to adjust to being on the pill.
I would recommend discussing any questions regarding what type of birth control would be suitable to you with your doctor/gyneacologist and if you have any side effects to discuss with him/her as they will then have to change you to a different brand. That's the only way to really know for sure.
Good luck :)

I was on YAZ for over a year....but after almost a year it made me start spotting between periods from a week after my period ended until my next period. It sucked. I liked the pill up til then though. It made my periods become a normal event. It was no longer a huge fiasco and pain in the you know what. I didn't have any bad side effects except for possible weight gain. I don't know if I gained weight because of the pill or starting Nursing School. LoL. School it hard because I have no time for exercise and I'm always eating quick food or food on the go.
Now I'm on Necon 1/35. I have no clue about what it's side effects are except I'm half way through my first pack of it and I haven't started spotting. So I guess that's good. LoL.

Yasmin 28. It's low-dose, with little to no side effects. I got headaches for maybe 3 days when I first went on it, and nothing after that. However, I went on it so my periods would be lighter and less painful, but it didn't do all that much to help that situation - they're still quite heavy, although not as incapacitating. So I may be switching to Diane-35 soon.

Mirena IUD. I love it. Had it for 18 months now. It's good for up to 5 years. I can have sex anytime 24/7 and actually DO!! (with my husband, that is). I highly recommend it only for people in monogomous relationships. Otherwise, use a condom if you have multiple partners. (safe sex or no sex).

I use condoms and the only side effect is it dulls the feeling. we occasionally use the pull and pray method. and also we have sex often in ways that are less risky to pregnancy. if you get my drift. and they say that method of BC is just for kids!
