I need to do a graph using the zero of a function method:

f(x)=3 + 5/x

3 + 5/x = 0
5/x= - 3
what should i do next?

The y axis is usually an asymptote and x = 0 is undefined. x = 0 is still undefined but when x = 0 the graph touches the y axis.

In this case y = 3 is the asymptote. Try putting x = 5/ 10^-10 and you will see what I mean.

Hmmm. It seems to me if x reaches 0, then the graph reaches +infinity. 3+(5 divided by (1/10000000)), or y=5x10000000+3. 3+(5 divided by 1/1exp1000000)), or y=5x1exp1000000+3

3 + 5/x = 0
5/x= - 3
5= -3x
5/-3 = x

f(x)=y
so its just
y=3+5x
5 is where you place the point on the y-intercept..
then you go up 3 points and over to the right one. and draw a line through them =]
