well a funeral is a somber celebration of a persons life, and there ascension in to the next stage of life. While I myself like some of what Marilyn Manson has done,I just think it would convey the wrong message and vibe. Ya, every one wants to go out with a bang and be flashy, but what you have to think of is a funeral is not necessarily for you. It is more fore those whom have come to grieve and say there final goodbyes. and could you see grandma digging Manson, or somebody else from the previous generation; that might be at your funeral? If you have your heart set on it go ahead but airing on the voice of reason I don't think its a good Idea.

I think its perfectly fine, I would want my funeral to reflect my life. So Ive decided to have a party instead of a funeral, just have my body there.
I think its a brilliant idea to have your music playing, its represents who you are. And Its excellent music, think about playing the Reflecting God, Marilyn Manson, at your funeral. No the less, in a church.
Absolutely perfect.

You can plan your own funeral and specify this is what you want and no you aren't wrong for wanting your music. However it bears saying, funerals are more for the living than the dead and more than likely your requests will be ignored or declined by a church, moving the services to a funeral home.

on the other hand, your funeral isn't really for YOU, is it? you're dead by then so you won't even be there to care. I'm with your partner on this one...pick something that will be a comfort for the people left behind. maybe save the marilyn manson for the irish wake.

I don't know Marilyn Manson enough to like him or hate him yet.....but going strictly on his looks and reputation it is a hard sell for me personally.
But if I knew you really liked it I would listen to it for you, to honour you for sure at your funeral and I would probably cry (for you that is not because of the music).

The choices are definately unusual but if you feel they reflect you in someway then I guess go for it....Keep your loved ones in mind though when you choose (It will affect them, not you), the bands you chose are pretty "hard" and the combination of mourning for you and hearing that music maybe just too much for some....

you certainly have the right to choose what ever you want. after all, its your funeral. pay for it ahead of time, and set it up, then he cant do anything about it. on the other hand, if he does or doesnt do it, you wont know either way, nor will you care at that point. you will be too busy facing your maker!

You should have whatever you want played at your funeral. That is what a living will is for...to make sure that it happens. Tell your partner to lighten up.
