It now appears that the reason that Kate 'broke down', on Spanish TV is that Gerry had her under strict orders as to what she should say. As Kate shed a tear Gerry comforted with the stearn words "Don't say anything till they've taken off your microphone".
Did Spanish TV nearly get a confession out of Kate McCann before bully boy Gerry intervened ?

The journalist broke a pre-interview agreement that they would not answer certain questions. If you bear in mind they are official suspects and have be warned by the Portuguese authorities they are not allow to comment on any part of the investigation, this comment in context makes complete sense.
Journalists have very little honour these days and are more concerned about getting "a sound bite" or "a quote" that can be taken out of context and used against the answerer in a different light. The media thrives on sensationalism for people like you.
Why do you think people like Max Clifford have become millionaires? - They train and coach celebrities / people in the news as to what to say to the media.
There is a major difference between tabloid journalism and the hard cold facts of a court room case as may well eventually come to light.
Now Adam, grow up and get a life you are becoming a bit of a bore......

The worst thing the PJ did was to allow this pair to leave Portugal. They should have kept them under house arrest not let them back to the UK to the comfort of their home with family ,pals and PR . That would have taken the smirk off Gerry's face and perhaps they would have confessed by now because he looked pretty shocked and shaken when he came out of the police station.

It says it all doesn't it, Gerry nearly storms out of the interview because the interviewer asks a question that they told them they wouldn't. I.e. about drugging the children.
If you are innocent Gerry, answer the 40 questions and tell that thing you are married to to do the same. Take a lie detector test like you promised to do, then people might start to believe you. Mind you before this happens, the devils residence will freeze over.

I think Gerry said that because the reporter promised not to ask the ludicrous question about sedating his kids. Kate became upset and he then said "don't say anything else till the mic is off" and I would imagine that he thought "you ****, you promised not to ask about that" .. after all Adam, its part of the allegations made against them by the police which would come under the Portuguese Secrecy do-dah.
Kate has nothing to confess. They are just a united couple standing together, supporting one another through this horrendous time in theirs and their daughters life.
Shame on you.

OR maybe he didn't want her to say anything bad about the investigation that could jeopardize their search or anything personal that he didn't want millions or people around the world to hear. Just a thought.

Kate McCann wouldn't dare move without Gerry's permission...let alone give a confession...he's a control freak and Kate's scared to death of him.....you can read it like a book....makes me wonder what really did happen that night !

Yes, it is suspicious.
The way I see it, they are to blame for the disappearance of their daughter, either indirectly by their extreme negligence, or by a direct involvement.
On the other hand, I always envisioned Kate as the mastermind behind the plot and Gerry as her accomplice...
