Okay, so here's the deal.. I am 20 years old and have NEVER been able to use a tampon..
Also i know its a bit personal to talk about which is why its embarassing but on the same note i've also never been able to masturbate- it always feels so uncomfortable i stop.
I was wondering could this be because i'm a virgin and once I lose my virginity will it make things easier in this department?
Sorry to be so graphic! but thanks, i need the answers!!

You need to relax when you insert it.
Also get the lightest absorbency plastic applicator tampon, Tampax Pearl Lites are what I suggest.

tampon usage can be a tricky thing. while it is more convenient for some, for others it just doesn't work out the way they want it to. once the tampon is in completely you shouldn't feel it. if you are having problems with it, you may need to go down a size.
as far a masturbation goes, try stimulating the clitoris first and that should get you there much faster. you may also need some lubrication to get you going at first.
I don't think that losing your virginity will change things for you, that will just mean that you've had sex.
Good luck!

I think your problem is neither your body or your viginity, you're not comfortable. First of all, putting a tampon in takes a little getting used to. I'm not sure if you're uncomfortable with putting it in, or the act of wearing one. Try putting one in while you're squatting, follow the directions that come in the box. Don't forget to take some Advil, tampons can cause you to cramp more.
I'm also a little sad that at 20 you are not comfortable and familiar with your own body. I think that's the real issue. That doesn't mean "go have sex!" it means explore.

When you loose your virginity it will be more comfortable for you. Same thing happened to me. It is different with every girl, but I could not wear a tampon until I lost my virginity and I could not stick anything inside there without pain.

I was never able to use a tampon until after I lost my virginity. It was just very uncomforable so that is probably what the problem is.

I had the same problem too. But it was because i didn't know what i was suppose to do. But i read about it on line than i try it. now i have no problem masturbating. just look for information online and try it one day. It is very healthy and normal to to this.

im 14 a virgin and i can get them up there. i think it depends...do u relax when u try to put one in? if u dont relax the muscles will be tense. you could also use lube on the tampon...i have used cardboard ones and they are good tampax regular are good cardboards and playtex gentleglides are good plastic. well try and see what happens,

It's very possible that it has to do with your virginity, and you may have a smaller than normal opening in your hymen. Are you able to get it in at all and it just hurts, or is there no opening whatsoever?
