It's called an ELECTION. The people of that state VOTED for him to be the governor.

Schwarzenegger was voted in by the California voters,.....quite some time ago, When Grey Davis was recalled,.....Eastwood was mayor of a small city in California,.....

Because we had a bad former Governor, and of the candidates available, he was the most sane and actually spoke with much common sense.
He only started doing crap like the Mom-Dad bannings and the illegal butt-kissing recently, so don't hold it against those who voted for him. We're every bit as much the victim you are.

The almost criminal negligence inflicted on California by Gray Davis catapulted Mr. Schwarzeneggar into office.

Ignorance. The vast majority of people who voted for him know nothing about government and politics. He actually drew one, usualy non voting, demographic to the polls in record numbers. . . Young hispanic males. If these guys knew what AHnoold was realy about, they would have stayed home.
BTW Eastwood was elected mayor of a wealthy, mostly white, town called Carmel. He is, understandably, well liked by his constituents. I personaly would prefer Eastwood to Schwartsika because he is more of an old school (non-neocon) republican.
