Get an MBA candidate to help you. He might do it for free for the experience. Try your local business college/university.

You can also google management consultants for small business.

There are several ways to help insure you have all the bases covered. The first would be to check out www.jumpup.com. This is a site sponsored by Intuit (quickbooks maker). There are several companies that will help you develop a business plan and get the legal stuff start. Hire an attorney, an accountant, and get yourself a bookkeeping system. As Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor I advise using QuickBooks because it's so user friendly. You can also contact your local SCORE office, for advice.

Good Luck

You could buy a book on business planning and work through chapter by chapter yourself.

I have developed some business planning templates which I use to generate a 'preliminary business plan' for my clients. This has all the elements of a business plan but there is scope for the client to 'flesh out' the details with their own research. The idea is to produce a plan and financial forecasts for 5 years.
