Should my friend stay at college during the Thanksgiving break or should he go home to his dad's and stepmom's house?
Cons of staying at Midd (college)
-campus is quiet
-will have to cook on food
Cons of staying at dad's house
-awkward
-not much to do there either
-dad pays 800 dollars for plane ride

I think it would be lonely alone on campus for the holidays. But if your friend does not get along with his stepmother (you said it was awkward? How awkward, and why?) or something, then, well, he has to decide if it's worth it to be lonely. This reminds me of a movie with Jonathan Taylor Thomas called 'I'll Be Home For Christmas.' It's a pretty dumb movie, but it can be funny if you are in the mood for it. It's about a kid who doesn't want to go home for Christmas but gets bribed to, and then he has so much trouble getting home that it's just ridiculous.

well, If the parents reallllllly want him home, he should go home...if they are nonchalant and wouldn't make a big deal, stay at school, there must be some restaurant/hotel that is having thanksgiving buffet...so sign up, get a ride or maybe taxi

go visit his dad, mine passed away in 1998 and i miss him terribly, spend as much time with your mom and dad as possible*
