Wild dogs do eat opposums, raccoons, stray feral cats, dead animals, etc. They also chase small deer and also pursue injured animals. Opposums are good at "playing dead" with people and other critters they consider dangerous. Though I've never seen opposums do this with wild dogs, I'm assuming that they would. Opposums enjoy hanging from tree limbs by their tails and they carry their young in a pouch very much like a kangaroo carries its' joeys. When the 'possums start to get older, it's not uncommon for them to ride on their mothers' back.
