Many have tried, but arguably if they were effective we'd have no atheists, would we?

Some people in Atlantis thought magic was ok. A great wizard who knows it is unethical to do magic (and who does not do magic) put everyone-along with the source of the magic into a giant black ball. The stars are the holes in it where the light of Truth shines in to all the (former) magic-seekers.
