I’m going to be traveling to XXXXXXX this year. I’m trying to find out what great souvenirs (food products or culturally/regionally products) that I should buy for folks here at home. I know that here in Washington, we are known for apples, salmon, etc. What is your state known for and what food items do you think I should consider picking up? Preferably items that don’t require refrigeration.

Greetings from Alabama.
The food industry with in the state varies from seafood in the south to Sorghum Syrup in the north.
Peanuts are abundant year round and Pecans are also available, with peanuts being one of the top agricultural products in the state. The week of November 2nd is the National Peanut Festival in Dothan Alabama in the Southeastern part of the state.
But there are fine foods all over the state and can be found in all of the cities and towns.
