You have three cookies.
One of them contains and alpha emitter.
One of them contains a beta emitter.
One of them contains a gamma emitter.
You have to sit on one, throw one out the window, and eat the last one.
What would you do and why?

Actually Hastings, this is not homework for me. It was something I heard in a lecture about 8 years ago and another question reminded me of it.

Sit on the alpha emitter because it cant penetrate through your clothes, throw the gamma emitter out the window because it is the most harmful, and eat the beta emitter because it isnt as harmful as the others.

Sit on the alpha emitter. Your skin can block it. Once it gets in your body though, you're screwed.
Eat the beta emitter cookie.
Throw the gamma emitter cookie out the window. Gamma decay is very high frequency and energy it does serious damage to living tissues.

Eat the beta cookie, sit on gamma's lap and throw alpha out the window. Why? Cuz it's the right thing to do...lol...
