If you are underage any detectable amount is over the limit. The people who sell or supply you with drinks can also get in trouble. The punishments are relatively light if it is just booze, but if you are boozy and in an accident you are in real trouble. So is the car owner. That said...
Most people can metabolize about an ounce of alcohol per hour. That works out very roughly to a beer per hour (depending on brand), a half a glass of wine (also variable by type) or a good healthy shot of vodka, whisky etc.
Oddly enough it is easiest to keep track of shots drank. People more easily lose track of how much beer or wine they slowly and steadily put down. They are often sincerely surprised to find themselves blotto when pulled over. SHot drinkers are rarely taken by surprise to see they are smashed.

Actually the tolerance is zero in most states. .08% is the limit for adults, not minors. If caught in Washington State, you'd be charged with MIP (Minor in Possession), DUI (Driving Under the Influence), and whatever it was that prompted the officer to pull you over in the first place (speeding, reckless driving, broken tail light, etc). The car will be impounded, and you'd be arrested until either a judge arraigned you or someone came to bail you out. Your license would be suspended until you're 21, and you'd have to appear before a judge to catch a fine, community service, and possibly enrollment in a rehabilitation program. The insurance policy on the car owner would about double.
That's in Washington State. The penalties may vary depending on where you live, but they'll be similar.
Minor means under 21.

Minors don't get the 0.08% cushion that adults get. If you are caught drinking and driving you are looking at jail, community service, alcohol education, an enormous fine, license suspension or revocation, etc...
Sorry your grandmother died - I'm sure it would make your grandmother more proud of you if you were not drinking and driving.

To answer your first question. (1)
If you are arrested for DUI, you will go to jail, and have to go to court. If convicted, you will have a very stiff fine, license suspension, alcohol classes, and insurance issues for at least three years.
If you must drink at this family function, do yourself, and anyone else on the road a favor, and get a ride home or call a cab.You do not want to take a chance that you mat hurt or kill yourself, or someone else on the road.

It depends on your body weight and metabolic rate. This wil vary from person to person.
Be aware that even if you're below 0.08%, some states drop the hammer on you for having ANY alcohol in your system.
Keep it under perfect control: Don't drink and drive.

If you are underage the limit is not 0.08%, it is 0.01%. One beer will put you over the limit.
You will loose your license until you are 18 minimum, probably spend a night or two i jail and get fined big time.

take it from a 27 year old who's lost far more from his family and friends than you. You're grandmother's death is no excuse so that won't justify what you're doing. Also, you sound like you need to get over yourself cuz you wont "score" with an attitude like that with any "sexy" girls. you will get screwed with a dui or dwi after more than likely two beers depending on your weight. You'll need a lawyer which your family will have to pay for after that. All of these things are inconveniences compared to the family or family members you may kill. the end

It all depends on your weight and how fast your body can process the alcohol. They usually say 1 beer an hour, but that depends on the strength of the beer. If I were you I have 1 when you get there and leave it at that just to be safe. Please be careful!

Zero tolerance means ZERO TOLERANCE. Under 21 the BAC is 0.00% Hence ZERO TOLERANCE. Don't use your dead grandma as an excuse to drink and drive.. Find a designated driver or use a taxi..
