I am a female and most of the shirts are too long since I am petite (5 foot 4 inches). I fold them underneath if it looks appropriate.

I believe it's fine and with certain things it can look neat and suit it,If I were to do that then I would tuck them in and then fold them over and sort of pull them down/out a bit.

I don't know what you mean by appropriate. As long as you can't tell it's folded then its ok. If you can, then you shouldn't because it looks tacky, like your trying to make your shirt skimpier.
