It was different with all of my kids (four-ages 13,8,6 and 3). My first was in full-time daycare at 6 weeks out of necessity. It was hard but we both survived quite fine. My second was in daycare full-time at 4 months. By the time my last two came along I was home full-time but, with no family around (both our families live out of state) I didn't leave either of them until they were 6 months old since we were using teenage babysitters. They also did fine and have had very close relationships with the small handful of teenage girls who've been caring for them over the last several years. Get out, have a good time and take care of yourself. You'll be refreshed by getting that little break and will be even more in love with your baby when you get home. Don't forget that your baby also needs to learn that "Mommy always comes back" and also remember to be relaxed about it because even small babies pick up on our tension. If you're fine with it, your baby will learn to be fine with it too.

I left my baby boy with my mom within the first 3 weeks. I went to my work for a Thanksgiving dinner. As for overnight. I did before a month im sure. I had a colicy baby and thank goodness my parents were there to help out so much!

I left my son to walk the dog when he was 2 weeks old, I lasted 5 minutes.

I didn't go farther than the park (end of the block) until my son was 8 months old. Even then I think we were gone for 2 hours as my son never really took breastmilk from a bottle.

If you aren't ok with going DON'T GO! Seriously, you will have lots of times to go out in your life, there is no point in going out and being miserable.

I left the baby with Dad for the first time at about 2 weeks old... to go grocery shopping. I was gone for an hour... and hurried back because he is a breastfed baby. It was actually when it hit me that I'm a Mom. I was crying all the way home... I missed my son so much! I wasn't nervous because Dad is a GREAT Dad... I just missed him.

I left my baby with my parents at 4 months old to go to a wedding. I was gone for four hours. It was so hard for me, I think I called 3 times. My daughter did fine. It was hard because I was breastfeeding and couldn't pump a lot of milk and she didn't like formula.

everybody is different and so is every child my daughter is 9yrs old and we have not been apart for a single night she would hate it but also you do need YOU time, as long as your baby has all it needs and is with someone you trust to take care of them properly then don't worry baby will be fine, but you have to be ready as well.
