i cut it on my pocket knife and its a clean cut, but its like 4 or 5 millimeters deep into my index fingertip. im going camping in about 2 days, and obviously it wont be healed by then but does anyone have any "remedies" that work for maybe making it less painful? or at least healing somewhat faster.

thanks for reading.

wash thoroughly with soap and water, apply antibiotic ointment like Neosporin, and keep it covered with a bandage.
Keep it covered until it is fully healed or you risk a staph infection in it. Good luck.

YOU NEED STITCHES! BUT IF YOU WON'T GO GET STITCHES THEN YOU CAN `BUTTERFLY` IT BY PLACING STRIPS OF SURGICAL TAPE, OR CUT STRIPS OF BAND-AID (TAPE PART) INTO THIN STRIPS. HAVE SOMEONE HELP YOU `PUSH` TOGETHER THE CUT WHILE THE OTHER PLACES THE STRIPS OF TAPE ACROSS THE CUT TO HOLD IT TOGETHER. OH! CLEAN THE CUT FIRST AS BEST AS YOU CAN. THEN COVER THE CUT WITH STERILE PAD AND BANDAGE UP REAL GOOD. IF YOU ARE STILL GOING CAMPING BE SURE TO BRING ALL YOUR FIRST-AID SUPPLIES WITH YOU, AND DO NOT LET IT GET DIRTY! CHANGE THE BANDAGES EVERY DAY AND CLEAN CUT WITH HYDROGEN PEROXIDE OR AN ANTISEPTIC SOLUTION. ONCE THE SKIN STARTS TO `FUSE` TOGETHER USE NEOSPORIN OINTMENT TO HELP IT HEAL AND LESSEN THE SCARING.

Next time something like this happens, keep some good hot cayenne (chili) powder on hand. Stick your finger in it. The cayenne doesn't burn like it does if you eat it, but it does almost stop bleeding on contact. And it heals faster too.

wrap it in gauze really well and get some of ointment and a finger cover to keep it clean =If it doesn't stop bleeding in say the next 2 hours with pressure on it ,go to emergency and have them stitch it up for you =good luck

Ah......i just got a cut yesterday accidently on a rugged hook small ripped sides. I just leave it alone after the band aid. If you eat well and be healthy you will naturally have a better immune system.

I would clean it with soap and water and then put poroxide. Then wrap it up in some sort of bandage with some ointment
