No.

As long as there is no successful movement towards real socialism in Britain or on the Continent, Britain needs to fully integrate with the EU, and help put together a federal structure with a centralized military.

Only such a military can hold off the U.S. - and the owners of my homeland, sooner or later, WILL attack Europe.

And since we workers in the U.S. have a weak, corrupt labor union movement and no mass socialist parties at all, we can't stop it.

Britain has to stop tap-dancing down the middle of the Atlantic and decide which it wants to be - a respected equal in the EU, or a servant of Washington. Because unless there's a socialist revolution in Britain, those are the ONLY choices.

the answer to this is, complex. I would suggest, to enter fully the EU it would seem we would lose even more of our rights more than we have already lost to the faceless Brussels contingent, that in itself, is a good reason for standing back,we are British, and should retain that ever disappearing identity,I cannot see we belong on the path of the USA,we are cemented friends with our strongest ally not only through the political areas but by personal ties, sharing many values similar to our own,yes there are differences but these are normally sorted out amicably, there is no reason as I can think of why we should be dependant on any other country, our problem in the UK is. And I have said this a number of times before. We, are no longer an island, that was the biggest mistake that could have been made for the UK

Britain should stand alone and join in individual interests that suit our needs. Joining the EU has brought us nothing but the human rights act, ruling from Brussels and an open door to immigration. We're far too different to mainland Europe to ever forge a close union with them and we're getting very little in return for being in the EU. And I certainly don't want to see us sacrifice the strong pound for the weak Euro.

That said, I don't think joining the US in a union would benefit us either. We're a much smaller country who would be eaten up by the much larger US. Being their allies is good enough. I don't see why we need anything more from any other country. The Scandanavian countries manage fine without being in the EU so why can't we?

well i think that it's important for the political balance of the world that europe become a strong and united coalition to stop the neo-colonialism of usa.otherwise we're gonna face another world war.george bush is not a very clever boy if he thinks that what he's doing now, creating disorders in islamic countries, will have no consequences.europe need to be united, all the european countries(and britain IS AN EUROPEAN COUNTRY,NOT A U.S.A PROTECTORATE)need to have an european army cause it's the only way to stop what's going on now and what will probably happen.we don't want wars,we don't want to restore the age of imperialism.we gotta stop this.

There is no comparison between USA and UK.UK is having a shrinking economy, unemployment and very low share in world trade.US $ is the most wanted international currency.UK has no hope for survival unless it stands with in EU.

why does Britain need to go with any one, the uk is such an import trading partner to both sides that we don't have to make that choice. we can sit in the middle and do very nicely.

you are like a bunch of school children. join this gang or that gang. what is this stupid 'must be a part of some thing' mentality???? how pathetic is that!!! we have stood alone thus far...were ok!! thanks. we are one of the strongest countrys in the world. the only thing that will bring Briton down is immigration. and the fact that Blair let in the enemy in their hundreds of thousands. bring the army home. throw the lot of them out!! and were back to normal. we do not need to join anyone.
