I'm in a rough spot right now, I'm starting to open up about my BDSM tendencies and am in BDSM support groups to hlp me cope with them. It's very hard for me because the Church does not seem to have an official stance on BDSM and the many priests I have talked to don't even know what it is.

I would very much like to remain Catholic but don't know if the 2 worlds can co-exist. It's very hard because BDSM is still way to taboo and nobody really knows or wants to talk about it in the open. By the way, it's not as uncommon as most people think.

Is there any sources or info that i could go to to find other Catholics involved in the BDSM world or find anything on what the Church has to say about it?

I can understand the problems you having with this. I am a Dom in a D/s relationship and have been for several years, and I am also Catholic. It is possible to be both just remember to get you two lifes separate. The Catholic church has no offical thoughts on BDSM, however remember anything other than straight married sexual activity for the purpose of conception is considered a sin. To be a catholic all it takes is to be believe in God and some not all of the teachings.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years that it is God's will that:
+ Single people should be celibate.
+ Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
+ Married couples should welcome God's gift of children and, therefore, artificial birth control is against the will of God.

The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.

The Catholic Church does not have an official stance which types of sex are allowable when a man and woman are married as long as it is consensual and done in moderation.

The purpose of sex is to bring a husband and wife closer and to create human life.

Put you church clothes on for mass and wear whatever on your own time. Don't forget, everyone who attends mass is a sinner. Only you can make you feel less of a person for whatever reason.

Not to be rude..but I don't see where your private life is any of the church's concern.

BDSM is legal. It's not like molesting children or murder.
