Does anyone else think it's the most important literary work of the twentieth century, and also the most relatable book to human beings EVER written?

Sorry, I am now reading it for the third time and it's hitting me like a ton of bricks. It's so beautiful, it almost makes me cry

It can be related to so many people, and its message is astonishing and provocative--but it's not the greatest novel of the twentieth century in the eyes of literary critics.

The greatest novel would go to maybe The Great Gatsby, The Grapes of Wrath...something along those lines.

I relate to Holden the most out of any literary character I've ever come across. Which is a bit unsettling, as it is the favorite book of most serial killers. Regardless, I adore it.

Read it some time ago, but honestly there are books I like more. Some ideas seem juvenile to me, not in the sense that the author didn't lose his inner child, but in a critical sense. All in all, it is fine.
