I recently received a violation for something completely inoffensive, and e-mailed Yahoo in response. I realize that some petty idiot likely reported it, and that Yahoo removed my answer and issued a violation without checking into it. However, their response to my inquiry made it clear that they intend to continue to act in this way. Read the exchange below and let me know what you think.

My initial e-mail to Yahoo:
I received a violation for answering the question "What have you done to prepare for the Australian wildfire season?" by stating that "I have prepared for the Australian wildfire season by choosing not to live there." This is in no way a violation of Y!7A rules...You need to reserve violations for cases where they are warranted.

Yahoo's response to me:
Thank you for contacting Yahoo!7 Customer Care. If you prefer to have discussions or chat with others, please use one of
Yahoo!7's other community services, such as Yahoo!7 Groups or Yahoo!7 Messenger Chat Rooms.

I cannot believe that you received a violation for this answer. This just prove that YA doesn't even bother to investigate the alleged violations. What a joke!

While obviously not the answer the asker wanted, you have answered the question as asked ..... take it a step further in the Violations forum (Forum link above, then Appeal a Violation link) and should win your appeal

I had one deleted yesterday - It simply asked people what the best book they had recently read was .... OK I added a warning, after getting one "I don't know" answer, that anyone posting IDK answers would get TD & be reported, but again that doesn't break site rules.

As for the user above, posting "You go girl" obviously doesn't answer any sensible question, so was probably open for legitimate reporting.

i dont trust those official questions because i have got a violation for all except OPRAH!!!!
even the ERNIE DINGO one & POLITICAL ONES AS WELL because i did not agree & nicely stated!
i did answer this one congratulating the great fire fighters etc & also said its great how they encourage people to be fire safe etc etc
BUT after a day i thought i had better DELETE it because they are so mean & I would have got a VIOLATION for sure so i'm glad i deleted mine before the idiots did!!
sorry they did that to you !

well that sucks. but yeah alot people on here are way too sensitive, or there just being jerks. in my own opinion if you cant handle the truth, thin don't post anything on here, if you don't like what people post thin don't answer, but they feel that they have to. i don't know, but i don't get it.
