Looooovin' that idea! Seems simple enough...I wonder why it hasn't been implimented (sp?) ?
Considering one must be tested to be able to work, why not drug test those who are sitting on their butts (not meaning all on assistance don't need it, just too many out there actually abusing it). Then everyone would know why the lack of motivation for working.

Some years back, my family had to resort to applying for food stamp assistance. I think drug testing would be a great idea. First of all to weed out people who somehow have money for drugs but not food. But mainly, because there are a lot of needy people and the more fortunate think they are all a bunch of drug addicts that are cheating the system, and drug testing will give one less insult to the needy

Seems like a good thing to me. The main drawback that I see is that we will have to pay for all the testing on top of the welfare. As with most people, they will find some loophole. ..Women may even start attaching fake dongs to themselves with clean urine.

First let me say that I think drug testing is unconstitutional, however if I have to wizz in the cup to make a living then those on welfare should too.

No, I would support that only if it were mandatory across the board: test everyone entering high school, everyone applying for a college loan, everyone applying for a home mortgage, everyone applying for a job in the public or private sector, everyone applying for a driver's license or a handgun permit or a marriage license or any sort of professional license - and let POLITICAL CANDIDATES be first in line to be tested!

Absolutely! Not one penny of our tax dollars should be allowed to be spent on drugs. Not just that month. If you test positive you should not be allowed any government money until you prove that got on your feet, cleaned yourself up and became a contributor to the system, not just a leech.

Absolutely.
Anyone receiving a government issued check (including elected officials) should have to be tested.
