It happens to me twice....

The main reason why?....
You connect the Monitor Cord in the wrong PORT...at the back of your CPU
First look for the Video Card Monitor Port hook it up...
make sure it was seated well ok....
I think it was a Blue Port you can see it'scolor ...

Monitors have TWO connecting Port at the back...

One if you have a Video Card...

The other is Built-in with your Mother Board...

NOTE:If your Video Card is Busted Try to PULL it Out first and you can use the other Monitor Port I told you before...

Remove first the Video Card ok....

But you said the Monitor is just saying "No signal"

Connection Problem only don't have to worry about anything else...

Maybe wrong Port of Monitor or Cables are not seated well that's all...

Goodluck!!!

"No Signal" Message on Monitor

You may have bumped something loose when bringing the computer home. Check all the connections inside, especially the video card ones.

If the "No Signal" message appears only after the Windows logo screen , your video may be set to a resolution or refresh rate that your monitor cannot handle. You should boot into safe mode and tweak the settings in display properties.

Also check to see if the computer has more than one video out connection , some computers have an on board video out with some motherboards ,and may also have a graphics card that has one also . Try both of them

This message means that there is no connection or a bad connection from the monitor to the video input on the computer. The monitor is telling you that it's working and that the problem is with the computer. It could be a video card issue, or a software issue, or some problem with the computer's motherboard itself. Try booting up from a system software CD. Also try holding down the F12 or F2 or ESC key while booting up to get a computer setup screen. Which key it is depends on the computer type. This information should be in the manual that came with the computer.

Hope any of that helps!

Actually I have the same problem. I checked with my I.T. dept. at work, and they told me it was normal if you are powering down, or the computer is going to sleep. It's a msg from your monitor, and basically what it comes down to is your graphics card is going to sleep first, and therefore the monitor loses that signal, and wha-la, you get the "check video cable" msg...pretty much nothing to worry about, but yes, at first I thought I put my new graphics card in wrong, or the connections were loose. You can check that as well, but if the msg is just for a few seconds then computer goes to sleep, or off, that's normal..good luck! Hope this helps.

The video card may not be seated properly or could even be bad. Make sure that the cable is completely connected to the card. If you cannot try a different monitor, try removing and re-seating(putting it back in) the video card.

You may also want to try disconnecting the power from the PC for about a minute or so before attempting to power it back on. You could also try flashing your BIOS but I would ask someone who has a little more experience try it. It's simple but you could damage your PC if you inadvertantly cross the wrong jumpers.

Is ether the monitor or video card uses both DVI or VGA port. There may be a switch on the graphic card that changes it from DVI to VGA, often outside the card. Also is the computer monitor set to the right setting if it can use both VGA and DVI, if using DVI (of any type) it need to switch to digital, and if using VGA it need to be set to analog. This may be a physical switch or using the settings button. (see manual how to change them) PS: VGA port is a blue D shaped port with 15 pin holes, and DVI is a white rectangle port with one port being a line.
