1. There are about 140 hotels in Cancún with more than 24,000 rooms and 380 restaurants.
2. Four million visitors arrive each year in an average of 190 flights daily.
3. The Hotel Zone of Cancun is shaped like a 7 with bridges on each end connecting to the mainland.
4. Hotels on the vertical or long side of the 7 tend to have rougher beaches and beach erosion can be a problem.
5. Resorts on the horizontal or short end of the seven tend to have more gentle surf because the waves here are blocked by the island of Isla Mujeres which lies just off shore.
6. The city has grown rapidly over the past thirty years to become a city of approximately 600,000 residents, covering the former island and the nearby mainland.
7. Downtown is home to less expensive places to shop, including many supermarkets such as three Walmarts, two Comercial Mexicanas, at least seven large Chedraui's and two Sorianas, not to mention several flea markets like the one in the Hotel Zone.
8. On the opposite side of the island from the Caribbean Sea is the Nichupte Lagoon, which is used for boating excursions and jet-ski jungle tours.
9. Although the Hotel Zone is frequently described as "posh" or "exclusive" the main Cancún tourism market is middle- and upper-middle-class, according to government statistics, which also report that more than 37% of Cancún visitors are Mexican.
10. Because of initial skepticism the Mexican government financed the first eight hotels.

2. Caribbean has 7-different colors of tourquoise
3. Sand is made of white coral...never hot to the touch
4. Cancun is a little over 30-years old- before that it was called Benito Juarez
5. Cancun is in the state of Quintana Roo (kwen tahnah row)

8. Average salary for a waiter in downtown is 50 pesos (about $5.00 us dollars) a day plus tips

How can Pastor International Marketing, S.A. de C.V (PIMSA) stay in business???
They are website host and designers/copiers, not a Travel Agency. My families vacation was ruined by this bunch and I really don't think I will ever recommend them to anyone, ever. As a matter of fact, I will tell everyone that I know not to Set up a Wedding, Rent a Room, Car, Tour, Airport Transfer or anything from these Fakes ever. They took my familes vacation money and destroyed our vacation in Cancun. We didn't get anything promised and what we got was telephone hang-ups, and lies. If they were in Canada we would run them out of the country. The owner was trying to get fresh with my wife on the phone when she made the reservations
