I am a Manchester United supporter but I have to say I think Daniel Levy screwed both Jol and the team. Why did he let Jol spend $0 million quid this summer and after 3 games try to get Ramos from Sevilla?
I think that cost Jol the support of the players. Added to that some lemons like Robinson and Jenas did not help either.

Big Big Arsenal fan here, I've no love for spurs but martin jol has been step on from a great high, kick in the nuts, slap in the face (HARD) by David levy, i believe martin jol moved spurs in the right direction buying players who have talent but for some reason just haven't performed. the players need to answer the fans with reason why they haven't played to level there paid for, bring in Ramos still could make thing worse.
he's a manager with great technical ability but the players will be the same. BUY a back-up defence because without ledley at the back the defence will leak more goals

I am an arsenal fan and even I think Martin Jol was hard done by. He has done a lot for the team - before he joined they were a middle of the table team and for two seasons he got them to fifth. The way Levy behaved I am surprised Jol stayed as long as he did.

You're a cut above the rest with a decent question like this, I too am a Liverpool supporter and would echo your sentiments. Sacking managers, or making it impossible for them to carry on leaves a bad taste even when the manager isn't one that I admire, but Martin Jol comes across as a gent and I hope whoever Spurs takes on doesn't do the business and leaves the board in the sh*te in a couple of seasons!

How can a manager have the respect of the players when it's well known Spurs have been touting for a new manager behind his back? I think it's an absolute disgrace and I hope Jol goes to another club and shows what a good manager he is. I think this could be a big mistake by Spurs, though I hope I'm wrong for the sake of their fans.

Sympathy with the long-suffering supporters maybe. Sympathy with Jol or the football club, Nah. Give any business a £40m injection of cash and if productivity drops massively after the assets are bought with the cash, the manager goes.

Am a West Ham supporter first and Arsenal second so I don't like Spurs that much, but I think Martin Jol is a good manager. If Spurs are daft enough to lose a good manager than that's a cause for celebration for me! :)
All my Christmasses would come at once if they hired Glen Roeder as manager! :)

Was at the match tonight, Levy got called some names and Jol got a standing ovation (twice!) and that was while we were 2-1 down! Levy messed it up when he went behind Jol's back, he made him lose the dressing room.
One more time now:
Martin give us a wave, Martin Martin give us a wave!

i love a fair game ,but getting rid of Martin Jol is not fair he has done a good job there ,the board must give him time ,we have all seen boardroom battles and when they take over a managers decisions the team has a danger of being relegated this is not the way to go
