Help with getting assignments done and turning them in!?

I am an A student and have been since like pre-school, and every year at the beginning I always have trouble getting orgainized. This year its alot worse. I've never been social so i dont have a ton of friends, and i've just been "hanging out" with ppl in my classes who i wouldn't say are the best ppl in the world. neway, Im just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get my assignments done/ remember to do them, and remembering to turn them in. I dont no why im having such a hard time this year. I do have a planner but im not good at using that either. So pleeeeez any advice you can give would be GREAT!!! Thanks so much!!

The planner is essential because it pinpoints the date an assignment is due.

A good strategy for using the planner might be to develop a set of abbreviations. For example, HW (homework), ES (essay), REP (report), pp (pages), T (test).

I would use stars for the more difficult assignments, especially ones that you won't be able to complete in one day. Break these assignments up into component tasks, like RES (library research), OL (outline), DR (draft), REV (revision), etc.
