It is both the Left and the right that are screwing the citizens by trying to ram amnesty down our throats.
The reason no rational solution is even being considered is that we have left it to irrational people to come up with that solution. The politicians in Washington have shown us that they have no idea what the American people want, and do not understand the position those of us in the rest of the Country find ourselves in due to illegal immigration.
I can see why...how many times has Pelosi, Kennedy, McCain or the President been hit by a drunk driver who gets out of their car and flees the scene?
How many times have they seen THEIR job ride off into the sunset because an illegal worker is willing to do it for half the pay?
How many times have they had to wait 3 hours to be seen at an Emergency Room because illegal aliens are crowding it up using it as their primary care clinic?
How many times have they watched in horror as the value of the home they worked hard and sacrificed for drop exponentially in value because of the new illegal neighbors packing 3 families into a single family home, parking broken cars on the street and on the lawn, and throwing trash all over the grounds?
Answer...NEVER!

The politicians certainly do. On the republican side, it's thier business consitutents' addiction to cheap, illegal (thus, labor-law exempt) workers that's at the bottom of it. The rank and file of the party tend to abhor illegal immigration, though. Over the last two years, the issues become prominent enough that the party might be doing itself some real damage. The fact that the democrats are even more in love with illegals probably limits the pottential damage, though.

Both sides have their hands dirty on illegal immigration. The Republicans are looking for financial gain and the Democrats for votes. Democrats know as soon as those illegals become legal they will vote Democrats to live on government aids. The only ones that are against the wall in this situation are the tax payers, both parties have cheated on us.

I guess you weren't around when conservatives and republicans rose up en mass to object to the president's support of Ted Kennedy's amnesty for illegals.
Next time do a little research before you ask a question. It'll help you not look so foolish.

You can thank Bush for letting the border completely disappear in allowing Mexican truck drivers to cross the border and drive into our country without ANY checks AT ALL.
