give it time! they will breed... just make sure to put the females in the breeders net so the babies make it alive.

Okay, first of all it is best to have more females than males because the males are to aggressive with the females, if they are stressed there's less chance of them giving birth.

When I first got guppies I got really frustrated because my guppy didn't give birth for 3 months. So just be patient it'll happen.

If you have a pregnant guppy ( there's a picture of one below)
get a sponge filter (you can purchase one at a local pet store) so that the babies wont be sucked in by the filter. Buy lot of plants so that they'll have a safe place to hide when they are born. If you want you can get a breeder box or net.

When the guppies are born the temperature should be 80 degrees and up, they grow fastest with a warmer temperature.

Make sure to separate them from the adult fish, but to prevent shock from pH balance difference don't put them in completely different water that could kill them, you can get water from the original tank and put it in a smaller tank for the babies. Or you could purchase a tank divider from the petstore so that they'll have a separate side of the tank and you won't have to get another tank.

You can feed the fry crumbled adult food ( it has to be like powder for them to be able to digest it). The easiest way to do this is to put the flakes in a ziploc bag and use your fingers (you don't have to put them in the bag you can do this from the outside) to rub the flakes until they're like dust.

GOOD LUCK!

First get some more females,at the very least 4 more. Then fill the tank with "bunch plants" so the fry have hiding places and throw the breeder net away. Keep the water conditions at peak quality. The guppies will take care of the rest.

Most guppies will breed readily in the aquarium. If you have a male and a female, it takes about 1 month for that tank to be filled with baby fish. It takes a good amount of time, patience and good water quality for them to breed. The only thing is, they eat their babies so if you want to save a lot of them, it would be best if you keep the female in a breeder net after she has been fetilized internally.

Guppies are livebearers which is a different characteristic than most fish have. They give live birth, hence the name "live-bearers".

Don't worry about it, be more concerned about how to take care of the fry, the guppies will have babies! Have a plan for taking care of the fry. If you recently got your females from a pet store, chances are that they are already prego. Good luck and have fun.
