Ones with very sharp points and a nice taper can substitute for an awl in some applications on woven and/or knit fabrics. They can also serve as a form for curving paper into teeny-tiny gilt paper cones for miniature Victorian Christmas trees (1":1").
Large ones make good paperweights, if they don't have sharp points in areas routinely subjected to earth tremors.
They can be a thoughtful gift, one more thing "rabbit" or "fox" or "chicken" for a person who collects images of such animals.
They can hold a magnet that can "catch" needles and/or pins while one is stitching. The magnet & scissors "store" in a smaller space than a pin cushion or needle roll and scissors.

I owe my daughter a good pair of sewing shears now!! told her that when her hubby got old enough not to use them as screw drivers she could have a good one!
She got rid of him so guess she can have them now!
