There are some of us that have started putting up decorations (even though it is not Halloween). For the really BIG decorators, it takes several weekends to get them up.
I, for one, will be getting some out this weekend (using Halloween as a cover) in order to get the lights on by December 1st. Some decorators light up the Friday after Thanksgiving and with it being early this year, there is pressure to start decorating early.
Below are some links to computerized decorators. As I stated, some have started because it takes a long time to put out 100,000 lights, mini trees, mega trees, blow molds, inflatables, computerized controls. Some of these people have been planning their display and working on it since March.

At least wait until Halloween is over because you still have that and thanksgiving to go. Usually the day after thanksgiving is the best time to start Christmas decorating. You'll look like a weirdo if you do it now.

Na, It's not to early. When the trick or treaters come just tell them your a nut this year.
What about thanksgiving too. Don't you like pumpkin pie and turkey? Don't loose the great seasons through out the year. Make Christmas special and only look for Santa in December.

Not for me, but for most folks, I think waiting until after Thanksgiving makes more sense.
I love hearing Christmas music, seeing the decorations, it doesn't bother me a bit to see and hear it all. I figure if you celebrate the Holiday, you ought not get all grumpy just because the signs of the Season are up and running.

If you want your Christmas to feel magical, put a short time-frame on it. Placing decorations too early will surely elongate their presence, but cheapen the effect. The second week of December seems about right to me. If you're really in the spirit of Christmas, and feelin ancy about it, go buy some special presents and stash them.

Believe it or not a neighbor around the corner had their lawn decorated and lit already. I saw it Monday night....who knows how long it's been up. It's too early they should go up Thanksgiving weekend or the first Saturday in December.

Yes. It's waaay to early. But not to start thinking about presents. I need loads of time to plan that. Why don't you wait till after Halloween, Bonfire Night and half way through November. I know some people who put them up weeks ago. Weird!

Yes! Resist the pull. Let's make the Christmas season special again. At least wait until December 1st if not longer.

No. I have soooo many decorations. I try to get them up by the first weekend in November. I start digging out boxes and crates in mid Oct. I don't get all of them up by Nov1, but I try to get up all of them in early Nov. I know people say, "It's too early" but if you have 32 bins of decorations to put up and four trees and all the lawn things, you have to start early. Other people can wait if they like.
