I've heard a lot of conservatives calling for the resignation or impeachment of Harry Reid concerning his letter and to-do about Rush Limbaugh's "phony soldiers" comment. They're justification being that either 1.) he is a deliberate liar or 2.) he is incompetent and unable to judge situations correctly. But can't the same rationale be used for Bush and his WMD justification for invading Iraq? The way I see it, Bush either 1.) deliberately lied or 2.) is too incompetent to correctly judge situations. Shouldn't those conservatives also be calling for Bush's resignation or impeachment? Isn't starting a war a much more serious problem than criticizing a private citizen?

Why are you guys bringing up Clinton? He might have had faulty intelligence, but at least he wasn't stupid enough to commit a full scale offensive based on that intelligence. And I give no one a pass. I can count the politicians I like on one hand, and they include both parties.

Last comments: Why do you accuse me of having double standards? I'm just asking why some conservatives are using obvious double standards. And if it's not obvious to you, you should open your eyes and look at the world with a critical mind instead of regurgitating whatever tripe with which you've been indoctrinated.

If you want to talk about being hypocritical just take a look at your own question. You state that either Bush is a liar (it must be deliberate to be a lie so there's no need to throw that in there) or incompetent yet you happily give a pass to all your Democrats that voted for the war when they were privy to the exact same info the president was. Your argument makes no sense when you consider that even president Clinton believed there to be WMD's in Iraq and US policy during his administration was to promote regime change in Iraq. The left's selective persecution of president Bush shows they're nothing more than political propagandists.

You sound like you're unaware that it was the Clinton administration that produced the intelligence on Iraq's WMDs.

For example, I have anthrax in my blood because Clinton ordered all deploying troops to be immunized. He also ordered that we be trained in self-injection of two anti-toxins for chemical weapons attacks.

What more evidence do we need that liberals have intentionally jettison moral values? You're not seeking fair treatment, you're seeking public approval for denegrating a standing president. If you had any intention of being fair, you'd lay the credit where it's due.

*************************
You really don't know very much about the Clinton years, do you? Not only did he produce the intelligence, he wrote the "Regime Change in Iraq" doctrine in 1998, and his wife went on the road proclaiming Saddam a threat to the world because of the WMDs.

The only difference between Clinton and Bush is that Bush had the cojones to act and Clinton didn't.

Try continuing a war ... ever heard of The Persian Gulf War?
http://www.infoplease.com/spot/iraq1.html
bombing Sudan & Afghanistan already?
http://www.cnn.com/US/9808/20/us.strikes.02/
http://freedomagenda.com/iraq/wmd_quotes
pls read the entire link, beyond the first paragraph

The serious problem here is we have a generation of people now on the internet. But not doing the research to present the entire argument. I'm sorry. You are smart it is clear yet pls look beyond todays headlines. There is depth to both sides of the debate. Google is just one click away. Thank you.

...actually the issue is that Sen. Reid is guilty of "Abuse of Power" in trying to use his position as the Senate Majority Leader (Oh how I hate saying that...) to step on the 1st Amendment rights of an individual Citizen. I should think this attempt should worry you as much as it does the rest of us.

I'm really surprised at your inability to see this... Are you so wrapped up in your Liberal perspective that you'd surrender MY rights to free speech as well?

Everybody including the liberal Left who TRIED to smear him know that Rush has a LONG standing history of supporting the troops 100%.

What happened was they realized that the Petraeus (Betrayus) ad was drawing too much attention to how much the Left actually hates America so, they wagged the dog and people like you were happy to oblige.

The real issue with conservatives is that they spew hate and vitriol towards anyone who doesn't swallow their anti-democratic agenda and obey their fascist dictates.
