So I finally saw the movie so I can see what it was about. From everything I heard about it, I thought it was about the global warming hoax. But the only thing I got from the movie was that the Alien Love Child (Al Gore) was still upset about losing the 2000 election, and the movie was his way to do his share of Bush-bashing.
Is the movie really about the global warming hoax or is it a political bash of his opponent?

Alien Love Child is because he was born 9 months after the Roswell UFO incident. And does anyone really believe he's human?

A judge in the UK just declared that Al Gore's movie has 9 (yes, NINE) mistakes in it. The judge also declared that if this movie is shown in a classroom, it has to be balanced with the opposite point of view.
Nobody who understands science takes this film seriously. Is global warming a problem? Yep. But, is Al Gore's movie anywhere near realistic or representative of the scientific consensus? No way. It's a propaganda film.

Actually the film is a bit of both. It is a commentary on global warming theories and a kind of reflection on the 2000 election loss. There are major holes in the "scientific evidence" that is presented, but the film and the book it is taken from are meant to make a certain point and there is no room for opposing viewpoints. The personal moments appear to be added as a way of granering sympathy, but really only make the film rather pathetic.

Well, I have to give you some credit.
99% of the people who complain about the climate change content of Gore's movie have never seen it and are just parroting the crap they hear on TV/radio.
As for the content of the movie itself, I agree that Gore whines too much about the 2000 election.
Furthermore, I disagree with many of Gore's assertions made in the movie itself. However, to completely dismiss climate change is foolishness in and of itself.
Just because Rush and Hannity don't believe in it, doesn't make it the truth. And neither of them are scientists, much less college graduates.
At this point there is an overwhelming number of climatologists, physicists, chemists, biologists, and geologists supporting the climate change theory with only a few refuting it.
Does it mean that the overwhelming number of scientists are correct? Probably, but not necessarily.

I heard that AL Gore has some interest in some company that sells "carbon offsets". So could crafty old Al be drumming up business? Is he a closet capitalist? I guess he needs to rake in the coin to pay for those extra big utility bills for that mansion he owns.

British Court Rules Al Gore Film Exaggerated Climate Claims
Thursday, October 11, 2007
Lewis Smith
Al Gore’s award-winning climate change documentary was littered with nine inconvenient untruths, a judge ruled yesterday.
An Inconvenient Truth won plaudits from the environmental lobby and an Oscar from the film industry but was found wanting when it was scrutinised in the High Court in London.
Justice Burton identified nine significant errors within the former presidential candidate’s documentary as he assessed whether it should be shown to school children. He agreed that Gore’s film was “broadly accurate” in its presentation of the causes and likely effects of climate change but said that some of the claims were wrong and had arisen in “the context of alarmism and exaggeration.”

Global warming is not a hoax, you fool! Even w. bush has acknowledged that fact. The questions are whether mankind is making it worse, and can we do anything to prevent it. Try getting your news from somewhere other than Fox News or Rush Limbo.

I don't think it was about the global warming hoax at all. A hoax is when somebody lies about something intentionally. I think Al Gore really believes he is saving the world.
But there were some jabs at Bush. Gore really pushed the oil industry's influence on global warming, and that's where the Bush family made its millions.

I've had more exciting lectures in my Business Statistics courses than Gore subjected the audience to in that "documentary." Sets a pretty low bar for other "documentary" makers if that's all it takes to win an Oscar now days.

(((LMAO)))) "alien love child". That is so very funny!!! I agree with you. Al is still pissed, because he lost the election and the movie showed just how unstable the man really is. Thanks for the laugh :)
I always thought the man looked like a corpse, but Alien Love Child seems more accurate!
