That's a big question and covers lots and lots of subjects.
Sometimes I think 'Big brother is Here'
We have to have certain rules and regulations in a society but I think sometimes they go beyond the lines.

I think they should tell us how many kids we can be allowed to have. Left unchecked, we are going to be over-run by undisciplined, uneducated kids in the near future.
I don't think they should tell us not to smack, but I do think they can tell us not to smoke. Smoking around a child is to damage the child's health for the rest of it's life, and potentially shorten it's life - people don't have the right to do that.

I'm becoming weary of this government pushing it's nose into things which do not and should concern it and not looking into matters which it should. i.e.e waste of money be the departments, over staffing and also in certain areas under staffing in the Civil Service NHS etc Starting a useless survey and often inappropriate surveys on vendors of property which will not or should not be accepted by legal advisers or mortgagors. Do I need to go on?

I always thought I lived in a democratic society - I thought my vote counted and that the people I elected would actually represent me! Oh Silly me - I must be rumplestiltskin - how else did I wake up in a dictatorship?? I am fed up to the back teeth with being told how to live my life. What happened to human rights? I don't see much evidence of my human rights being excersised - I see (and experience) plenty of them being violated or abused. GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Wish I could afford to emigrate fm this dictatorial nanny state

I'm torn on this issue. I guess ..YES.. but only since most people know what to do (right & wrong) but for the idiots who refuse to accept "blame" then such laws become a necessity.

The bad apples will also spoil the good apples.

skeptic has got it in one - well put sir-madam-whatever.

before our politicians tell us how to live they should look to themselves - 'people living in glass houses' and all that.

i think labour is trying to ruin our lives now before they get voted out since they have no chance of getting in again with their bullying tactics - are they too stupid to realise that since they've nicked all the good ideas from the other parties the vote winners will be to reverse some of the rules set by labour- whoever changes things back to how we (the people) want it to be will get my vote.

don't get me wrong - change is good but we should have been asked what we want since we are the tax payers not told like naughty children . i will decide what's best for me not some fat overgrown school bully sitting in Westminster.

They should dictate how we treat others, but not how we treat ourselves. However, in dictating how we treat others they should not force us to be generous to others either. Just that we can't kill, steal, or do anything bad to other people.
