I'm trying to get that "distressed jeans" look without paying tons of money for them. I wanted to add some bleach spots but it's not working. I mixed 3 parts bleach with 1 part water. It's not working. What am I doing wrong?

With all due respect; stop using bleach; unless you want the "distressed" look to look like rotted out fabric.

RIT makes a color removal product; mix some and splash/ rub/ wipe on where you want. OR try straight lemon juice (not in the little yellow squeeze thing)

Bleach isn't as concentrated as it used to be. And they don't use bleach to do that in the first place. They have distressing machines and people who do it for a living. Some are actually really old fabrics.

Maybe you should lay out your jeans and atually put the bleach right on top of them. Like pour some right where you want the spots to be..and let it sit for a little while and then try to wash them again. OR they have bleach pens...you could try that!

i think the 3:1 ratio of water to bleach is more for disinfectant purposes rather than blecj=hing denin. I say more bleach less water. Put in into an aluminum foil tray and dab your jeans into bleachy water.Good Luck!
