I vacuum first because it doesn't matter what kind or how good a vacuum you have it's going to kick up some dust.:)

If using something like a dyson you can dust first, if using a cheap or older vacuum then dust after, as most of dust is sprayed back into the room.
I use my dyson to dust as well as vacuum, by using the soft brush tool.
My Mother thinks it is written in stone that you dust first, she nearly has a panic attack if she sees it being done any other way.
Do it what ever way you want, preferably not too often...

Dust all the high places then vacuum. If you vacuum first, you will just be knocking dust on the floor when you dust.

Depends on your vacuum. You'd vacuum then dust because the machines cause more airborne dust particles. In theory today's HEPA would allow you to dust then vacuum because nothing escapes the vacuum.........no, I don't believe that either. Vacuum then dust using a material that will trap the dust, not a feather duster that will just move it around.

I agree with every one that said vaccum first. I always vaccum first because you can see where the dust is actually flying in the air when you vaccum if it is a sunny day. I sur don't want more dust on the furniture I polished. But I think in my moms day it was dust first then vaccum.
