I've been spotting these nasty little bugs usually late at night, in the kitchen or in the bathroom, they are silverfish and I don't know how to get rid of them! I've killed about 5 of them in the past couple weeks but I'm having family over next weekend for my sons bday party and I don't want any of my family seeing them! I read something about putting tape around a small jar and the silverfish can climb up the jar with the tape on it but once in the jar they can't climb out bc the surface inside is smooth. I hadn't noticed any of these bugs until I started putting new wall paper up in the bathroom! I hate creepy little bugs, just thinking about them makes me itch and tingle like something crawling on me!

They really like damp environments. Make sure you keep things dry. Take the dog's and cat's waters up at night and put the plugs in all the sinks so they can't go down the drain to the "bend" for a drink. If you take away their water supply, they'll leave for moister pastures.

There are also chemical things available to nuke 'em. Very effective.

They thrive around moisture so of course you see them in the bathroom and kitchen. They also feed on wallpaper paste...you set out an buffet for them. Here's a site for a nontoxic control method...you puff the stuff under the baseboards and back of cabinets.
