Because it's still one of the best states in the nation! come one, sunshine, open-minds, warm beaches, Hollywood, what's not to love? You have it all here. Every part of the country has some type of weather issue to deal with but many don't offer what California offers. And the places that do are on the same list of "places people want to live" as California.

Picture this. It's the morning of January 1st. You are gathered around your oil-burning stove in your snowbound home in the Northeast or the upper Midwest. You turn on the TV and there is the annual Tournament of Roses Parade live from Pasadena. Young ladies in short skirts marching down Colorado Boulevard while one can seen oranges on the trees in the background.
And that is but one reason why a quarter million people pull up stakes and head west in the months following that parade.

I think it truly is because of the climate. That state has some of the best weather around...they don't get the extremes like other states do.
They don't have to deal with humidity, severe cold or snow, no hurricanes or tornados...just earthquakes and fires. Which are big deals, but seem to be rare enough that people keep moving there.
I can't think of any other reason to move there.

once in a while it's a hell doesn't mean it's hell forever . It still have the most beautiful weather in the world and the beaches are nice.Even if all of those people move the u.s would have problems because of over population. Think about evacuating about 70 million people where could they go?

Mostly the weather and geographic location. I wouldn't live anywhere else except for Vancouver. That's one city that if I could just do it, I'd pack and leave in a minute.
