This one that I made years ago, will try to give accurate instructions........
3" styrofoam ball and 4 colors of wide Bias tape, straight pins, heading lace, ribbon one decorative straight pin, glue
(28- 2 and half inched lengths of the bias tape, 4 of color one, 8 each of other three) times TWO
Fold bias tape in half, stick plian straight pin along one of the fold line, stick itinto the ball, fold the tape to create a point, glue down the opposite flat side from point. doe this with the other three pieces of color one.
Next layer out do the same thing at each fold line, glueing down the flat ends. Done correctly you'll end up with what looks like the beginning of a 'LoneStar' Next Layer out do your points at each place that the second layer over laps and do the third layer this will create your Star for one side, repeat the process on the other side of the ball. Use the heading lace threaded with the ribbon and glue down to cover up your edges where the two sides came together use a second length of ribbon to create a loop by which to hang your ornament. Add glue to your decorative pinand use it to stick down your loop and you have what looks like the lone start quilt block, made fairly inexpensively with foam ball, bias tape lace, ribbon, pins and glue...........
The first one took me forever, but it gets faster I 'churn' them out pretty quickly.
I hope these instructions were understandable!!! Best of luck!
