my maid of honor in my wedding. we get along well she just lives where my parents moved from which is 1 1/2 hurs away. we don't speak on the phone to each other or nothing but she is my mothers sister

You can have whom ever you want, but usually it is one of your best friends. That doesn't mean that your aunt can't be a friend, so plan away, and ask for all the help you can get.

of course not. Who cares what people think. Have whoever you want to be your maid of honor it's your wedding. People pick family members all the time to be their MOH.
