the judge involved with the inconvenient truth - al gore - political movives case ruled that the four main ideas of the movie are factual. cons conveniently omit this little tidbit everytime they bring up the case. those four main facts were:

-global warming is real
-people are causing global warming
-people can change their behaviors and reduce global warming
-and that global warming will be a major global concern that will lead to more and more catastrophic changes if not addressed in the near future.

The problem is that the American media did a terrible job of handling this story. They acted as though the fact that 9 points out of the hundreds made in the film were deemed inaccurate (and some of those 9 are debatable) meant that the whole film was completely wrong.

In reality as you point out, the basic science in the movie was confirmed to be accurate. The judge said he had "no doubt" that the defendant's expert was "right when he says that: 'Al Gore's presentation of the causes and likely effects of climate change in the film was broadly accurate.' "

No because these things are true and accepted by scientists. I do not know why people make this a political issue.
