answer is -99. the square root of -121 is -11 therefore 11*9 -99. I am so confused. Please tell me if I have this correct?

the answer is worked out thusly
√(-121)
√[(-1) *(121)]
√[(-1) *(11*11)]
11√(-1)
11i

The answers is 11i (the letter 'i' in mathematics is the symbol used to represent √(-1)

ANS: 11√(-1) or 11i

√(- 121) = √( i ² 121) = 11 i

The sqrt of -121 is 11j. j is the sqrt of -1. You can rewrite sqrt(-121) as sqrt(-1)*sqrt(121). This is the same as sqrt(-1)*121.
