He forced sex on that poor girl and gave her a bad name all to make himself innocent. He needs to learn some accountibility for his actions.

He is a good player though, but he should share the ball more...

He is the Best! Nobody likes to lose, or be lied to! Be great full to the fans? The fans didn't promise him better teammates, the owner did! If he didn't respect LA he wouldn't of played at all this year! He is a winner. He will win. MJ had players around him that knew how to play and feed off of him. Kobe passes the ball and nobody can make a shot. They stand and watch him play. I haven't missed a Lakers game in over 8 years. I know what I'm talking about. He was the Lakers leading assist holder last year. He can play incredible D. Look what he did in the Americas this summer, oh, but he had other people on the team that could make points and play D and even get 6-8 assists a game! If we can just get a player that people would defend and free up some space for Kobe, like Pippen for MJ, you will see how good he really is!! Odom can be that guy, but he isn't mentally aggressive enough! He needs to be a 20-10-8 guy for Kobe to be a 30-8-8 guy! I think JO could be what the Lakers are looking for and what would make Kobe the Best ever and get an MVP or 6!!

Kobe is such an eccentric figure, it's hard to sum him up in one word. He's consistently inconsistent, and there is just so much to say about him. Here are some things I think:

He's not exactly downright arrogant, but he is too much of a perfectionist and needs to stop losing his temper. His teammates aren't as good as him, so he should give them some time. And I was in 4th grade during the whole Shaq situation, so I can't dig too deep into that. From what I know about them now, I can kind of understand why they didn't get along: Personality conflict. Kobe is stubborn, cynical, and antisocial. Shaq is happy and friendly and won't let Kobe sit in the back of the bus. I see why they can't get along, but just for the sake of winning, Kobe shouldn't have taken the whole thing to such an extreme.

I'm going to say with 95% certainty that Kobe is NOT a rapist. I'd hate to think so cynically and believe that a woman would take advantage of a rich man in such a conspiratorial way, so my hypothesis is that she consented, then forgot that she consented. She was on anti psychotic drugs, and had suffered several overdoses recently, so her interpretation of the situation is questionable. I also doubt her judgment. There was compelling evidence that she had sex 10-15 hours later. Her lawyers denied it, but near the end of the whole thing, they said that she did it to make herself feel better. Even if that is true, why did they wait 8 months before telling it? And didn't the woman consider the fact that having a second encounter would exacerbate the injuries and taint the evidence? I could go on about that, but I don't think you're interested.

Kobe used to be a ballhog, but not anymore. 5.4 assists IS passing. Interchange Kwame Brown and Amare Stoudemire, and watch his assists skyrocket at no expense to his shooting. I think there should be a FGA-Assist stat to solve the dispute once and for all who is the biggest ballhog. But even so, Kobe will probably still be in the top 10%.

He doesn't seem to have very good media skills. It makes him look like a much less likeable person than he really is. He has done some amazing services in his community, and even in neighborhoods in other states. Kobe is just bad at presenting himself, and he's become the quintessential NBA villan. For example, I can kind of see where he's going with the whole "I'm mad at Dr. Buss" and the "My teammates aren't working hard enough" thing. He does have a point, but he expressed it in a bad way. He should go right up to the front office and tell Dr. Buss to start getting things done, or tell his teammates to play with heart. That's what Steve Nash would do. It was really dumb of Kobe to talk to himself in some parking lot and get filmed unknowingly and having to apologize later. Kobe really doesn't have media skills. He uses the craziest ways to get his message across. He also likes to avoid reporters and not make eye contact when they talk to him.

Ok, I think you're tired of reading. To sum it up, Kobe is a great player, an ex-ballhog, very likely a victim of false accusation, a celebrity who isn't that great at dealing with the press, and an antisocial person. Not the ideal teammate, but he's gotten better over the years.

He is the best player in the league right now. He hogs the ball because the team wants to win. Best player on both ends of the floor. Tried and tested, probably the player in the NBA that has the most desire to win. Always delivers in crunch time competitiveness and heart separates him. You may say what you want about him but you can never change the fact that Kobe is a WINNER and not a pretender like some of the young stars in the league today.

common opinion Jordan Farmar can score very nicely, surprisingly good at assists, i could take him. good backup for the Nets. James Johnson has been beginning majority of the season for the Raptors, he can rebound good for a SF yet he won't be an excellent scoring determination. Patrick O'Bryant became a 7'0" center out of Bradley who became a lottery %. some years in the past, by no potential panned out, he's already out of the league.

Just shut up and play ball. Stop complaining about not being surrounded by talented players, i think a guy that goes by the name of o'neil used to play in LA? Think of your teammates for once when you open your mouth; i'm sure they're so glad you're still on the team and at the same time making them so much better by ranting to strangers, putting them down infront of strangers in a parking lot. Your greatest talent to playing basketball, not speech, keep your mouth shut.

Best player in the NBA.

Top 5 defender in the NBA.

Fierce competitor.

Clutch. An assassin with the final shot. Daggers.

Thin skin, too sensitive.

Should be more grateful to the LA fans for the support he received during and after his rape case.

Great player, but shut up and play. MJ never cried like that, nor aired this much dirty laundry to the media.
